Lets be honest, there’s not a lot to do at my job during the summer.  One thing I pondered recently was that it’s odd that Canada Day, the US Independence Day, and Bastille Day all fall in early July.  That made me wonder if it’s a trend for other countries as well.  So thankfully Wikipedia has a list of Independence Days around the world that I could use to create this graph.  Clearly there is something about summer that makes for a good time to revolt.  I don’t want to be too environmentally determinist here but I guess it makes sense that you would rather undertake a revolution in the summer than the winter.  Given, not all of these independences are the result of revolutions, but you know.

ETA: I mapped the dates of independence by season (I couldn’t do more than 6 groups so I couldn’t do it by month).  It’s here:
